The Founder President of the organization, Mr. Marutirao Salunkhe, has carried out remarkable social work in the New Sangvi area. His wife, Mrs. Surekha Tai Salunkhe, established Rajmata Foundation in 2003 as a voluntary organization to empower women and implement various social initiatives.
From 2002 to 2010, she represented her area as a Corporator in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. In 2002, she served as Chairperson of the Women and Child Welfare Committee. She introduced the concept of a weekly market for women’s self-help groups for the first time in the city.
She also worked as a Ward Committee Chairperson and served for five years as a member of the Legal Committee. Additionally, she worked in the Standing Committee, one of the most important committees of the Municipal Corporation.
